Some trading platforms will use traditional exchange symbols even when using CQG as the data provider. However, some platforms will use CQG abbreviations instead.
Here is an example for Mini S&P 500 the exchange symbol is ES. However, the CQG symbol is EP.
For example, platforms such as Quantower or Multicharts will use the CQG abbreviations. So, for instance, if you try and search using the exchange symbol, the platform will not locate the symbol. Instead, it would be best to use the CQG abbreviation to locate the symbol.

Simply look at the "CQG symbol" column. The original exchange "symbol" column can also be seen on the margins page.
